How will moderation work?
Schools will continue to be supported through assessment seminars and consensus moderation meetings for grade comparability.
Will statistical processes continue?
Yes.
Please clarify the GAT arrangements for 2008?
All students in their final year of school who are enrolled in at least one unit in a new course will be required to sit the general achievement test (GAT). Information about the GAT can be downloaded from the Council’s website at http://www.curriculum.wa.edu.au/pages/student/gat.htm
How does the GAT work?
The general achievement test (GAT) results give a good State-wide indication of how schools are applying the standards. The general achievement test (GAT) for students in their final year of school is analysed in conjunction with school assessment. GAT results will not be used to directly adjust school assessment, nor do the results affect the scaled mark.
What statistical moderation processes will be applied to school results for courses?
The statistical moderation process remains the same. The exam mark will continue to moderate the school mark. Got to http://newwace.curriculum.wa.edu.au/pages/about_assessment_moderation.asp for more details.
